What is EFT?
Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) often known as EFT or Tapping, is a self-applied, clinically researched set of techniques used to reduce stress, calm the nervous system and create new pathways in the brain.
It allows space for new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. It can transform feelings of being overwhelmed, stressed and burnt out into feelings of contentment, calm and control.
After learning these techniques, they can be applied on a daily basis and in a vast range of situations, making EFT a powerful self-help tool.
Although EFT can be used on your own, complex and ongoing issues are recommended to be processed alongside a Certified EFT Practitioner.
What To Expect From An EFT Session
Every EFT session is tailored to your individual needs and goals. Your first session will begin by talking about what you need support with, whether that's a current challenge, a past experience, unhelpful patterns, physical discomfort or something you'd like to feel differently about in the future.
You will then be guided to tap on a series of acupressure points while focusing on a thought, emotion, body sensation, memory or challenge. This process helps regulate your nervous system, allowing emotional intensity to soften and create space for greater mental health and wellbeing.
We move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you. There's no pressure to relive distressing experiences or share details you're not ready to discuss. Clinical EFT includes a range of gentle techniques that allow us to work with difficult emotions, including trauma, guilt and shame, without needing to talk about every aspect of what happened.
Some sessions focus on healing past experiences, while others are future-focused, helping you prepare for upcoming situations with greater confidence and calm.
Many people leave a session feeling lighter, calmer and more emotionally balanced, with practical tapping tools they can continue using between sessions and throughout everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No, Clinical EFT is a self-applied technique. As a practitioner, I guide and model the tapping sequences for you to follow on your own body. In rare cases, if a client is unable to tap and gives permission, I could tap on their body, but this is uncommon. My role is to empower clients to use EFT independently so they can continue to benefit from it anytime they need.
-
Absolutely. I offer both in-person sessions in Woolgoolga and secure online appointments for clients throughout Australia and beyond.
-
Every person is different. Some people notice positive changes after just a few sessions, while others choose ongoing support depending on their goals and circumstances.
-
No, you don’t have to believe in EFT for it to be effective. I encourage people to approach EFT with an open mind. I offer a short, guided tapping sequence to give you a chance to experience it firsthand. Often, even a few minutes of tapping helps people feel a shift in their emotional or physical state, which can be a powerful “aha” moment! By educating clients and providing direct experience, I’m able to demystify the process and demonstrate EFT’s value as a tool for emotional well-being.
-
Clinical EFT involves acknowledging what’s really going on rather than affirming the problem. Tapping calms the body’s stress response by addressing these underlying emotions. Trying to “go positive” too soon can feel like putting a bandage on a wound without cleaning it first, it doesn’t allow for true healing. By acknowledging our real feelings, EFT helps change our emotional response, allowing for a genuine shift in how we feel.
-
Only as much as you're comfortable with. Sessions are guided at your pace, and you'll never be pressured to discuss anything before you're ready.
-
There are ways to work with Clinical EFT without discussing specific details. EFT includes techniques that allow us to address an issue without you needing to disclose sensitive information. This flexibility lets you work on emotional challenges in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you.
-
Yes. EFT can be adapted for children and teenagers, helping them develop healthy emotional regulation skills in a gentle and supportive way.
-
EFT offers practical tools that can reduce stress, increase team morale and improve focus. This can lead to reduced absenteeism, enhanced productivity and a more positive team culture.
For educators, EFT can also be applied to support children’s emotional regulation, creating a calmer, more cohesive learning environment. -
Absolutely. When a whole team works together towards a common goal, it fosters unity and mutual support. Learning EFT techniques as a team can help manage stress, prevent burnout and enhance the overall well-being of your entire organisation. Additionally, a cohesive team equipped with these tools can improve communication, collaboration and productivity.
